When I was little, a child full of anxieties, I kept a bag of my most prized possessions next to my door in case there was a house fire: my favorite outfit, my oldest stuffed animal, and my bible. As I got older, the image of a burning house began to soothe me. As someone whose values and beliefs vastly changed at a young age, I began to associate burning houses with the dissociation from those of home. I sought out burning houses like a storm chaser and, in college, drew them into as many of my short stories and poems as I could. DM to purchase. 5.5x7" hoop.
